Sometimes after we're done professionally updating your home to the latest and best efficiency possible, Clients look at their attic and wonder a few things. This page is meant to address those questions!
"Why are there "Gaps" in my installation? Won't that hurt my insulation's efficiency?"
The answer is two-fold: First, Science shows RADIANT heat doesn't move by air flow so the gaps do not affect the performance. Second: MOISTURE on top or bottom of your new insulation is bad. The attic MUST breathe to stay dry so we leave openings to make sure your home is SAFE! Gaps are ok less than one square
"Why isn't it 'flat' everywhere?"
Our specialized insulation is designed to cover whatever is in the attic so that it can shape itself over whatever is below it (ducts, existing insulation, trusses, etc...) It will not be flat unless what is below it is flat. This is OK! It works perfectly whether it is 'flat' or 'wavy'! That is the beauty of our amazing techology.
"Why is there some of my existing insulation on the top of my new insulation?"
This is simply the result of installing with existing blown in insulations. They respond to static cling and move with our installers as they are updating your attic to the new technology. This cannot be avoided, but while some don't like the look, the performance is completely unaffected.
"Can I store things on top of AeroShield if I need to?"
Absolutely! Just be careful not to drag anything over the material which would tear it and void your install/material warranty! The insulation is completely unaffected by anything on top or underneath it. Store away!
"My floors are cold... Your insulation worked so well in our attic, will it work in our crawlspace/basement?"
We do crawlspaces, basements, under manufactured homes, she-sheds, he-sheds, barns, workshops...ANYWHERE that we can get the insulaltion installed will work and have great effect!
"Will your insulation work without ANY other insulation also being present?"
The short answer: YES. Our advanced technology is effective to insulate by itself. Obviously, many factors influence effectiveness and savings. Additionally, building codes and local regulations can influence what must be installed to meet their "code" levels, but for areas that need more insulation it will work absolu
